Nancy has been in the fitness industry for two decades. She began her career working at both the YMCA and YWCA. Later she moved overseas where she was part of the first group to introduce, train and instruct indoor cycling in the Middle East. She managed a fitness facility and acquired international fitness certifications.
Upon return to the States Nancy co-founded and co-owened Urban Mom Stroller Bootcamps. She and her company were highlighted in numerous publications and filmed for fitness news segments.
Nancy is currently a group exercise director at a private facility where she instructs cycling, rowing, strength and active aging classes. She is a certified FAI Active Aging Specialist and SCW Active Aging Coach in addition to holding numerous other fitness certifications.
Traumatic life events, in addition to her mother being diagnosed with vascular dementia at age 55, inspired Nancy to research and create science based classes to enhance neurogenesis and create neuroplasticity for trauma.
In the eight years Nancy cared for her mother, moving her through three levels of care and five facilities while navigating Medicare and Medicaid, Nancy delved into learning about basic neuroscience, memory and finding ways to slow the progression of dementia. At the same time she was grieving the loss of her first child and adjusting to her kidney transplant and found relief in the learning about neuroplasticity.
With an academic background in psychology coupled with Nancy's fitness experience she developed a class marrying both mental wellness and fitness she entitled Neuro Games®. The class began in 2018 at a private fitness facility and is still going strong today. Nancy is now ready to help others and share the benefits of the classes with a broader audience.
Virtual and public classes coming soon!
